Schengen countries
Schengen Agreement – the agreement on the abolition of passport control between the number of customs in the European Union, originally signed by 14 June 1985 seven European countries (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Portugal and Spain) entered into force on 26 March 1995.
Then, the agreement was joined by several countries, and until 2007 the agreement already in force in fifteen countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
December 21, 2007 the Schengen Agreement joined by 9 countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
December 12, 2008 at Schengen entered Switzerland.
Today, these 25 countries account to the Schengen area.
To 2011 planned entry into the Schengen zone and Bulgaria and Romania.
